Respiratory Clinic

Picton Respiratory Clinic has been established in partnership with the Australian Government Department of Health to provide free short-term care of respiratory illnesses.  Picton Respiratory Clinic is co-located beside our General Practice to provide the safest environment for assessment, treatment and covid-19 testing.

There is a separate entry on Margaret Street to the Clinic and no internal access into the general practice.

Who can attend?

Appointments are free, no fees apply as this service if funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. A GP referral is not required.

Anyone with any symptoms or signs of a respiratory illness such as a cough, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, headache, body ache or ear pain.

You do NOT need to be a regular patient of Picton Family Medical Centre in order to attend and it is available for all people in the Wollondilly and beyond.  Results will be sent to patients via SMS directly from Laverty Pathology.

Monday to Friday: 3:30pm to 5:30pm

The entrance to the DRIVE UP CLINIC is on 9 Margaret Street, Picton.

Please look for the signage and purple Picton Respiratory Clinic banner.

 

DRIVE UP assessments:

This Clinic is suitable for patients of all ages experiencing fever or respiratory symptoms. Respiratory symptoms include sore throat, cough, shortness of breath and/or nasal congestion, sneezing, headache, tiredness, diarrhea, vomiting.

You will REMAIN IN YOUR CAR for the duration of your consultation (please wear a mask)

If clinically indicated, you may be asked to leave the car to be examined inside the Clinic or beside your car.

Where is the DRIVE UP Clinic located?

  1. 9 Margaret Street Picton (outside of Picton Mall shopping centre)
  2. Entry is via Margaret Street (from the Colden Street intersection in Picton).
  3. Opposite the Wollondilly Council staff car park

What TO DO on arrival ?

1.DRIVE to 9 Margaret Street Picton and park as close to the Purple Flag as possible

  1. Remain in your car with your Mask ON
  2. Call 1300 545 245 to advise you have arrived.
  3. You will need to confirm your ID (inc mobile) and advise your car colour/model
  4. A doctor or nurse will then call your mobile number to begin the assessment over the phone.
  5. Move to the passenger side seat of your vehicle (or curb side) for the safety on our assessment team.
  6. The assessment team will then come to your car for testing or reviews.

I don’t have a car, can I still attend the Drive Thru Clinic?

Yes. Please wear a face mask, and present to the glass doors at 9 Margaret Street Picton at your appointment time and call 1300 545 245 to advise you have arrived on foot
